Case 1: You are still on the vaccination course (e.g. between doses) If you get another dog bite while still completing your current anti-rabies schedule: Do NOT restart the full course. Continue the remaining doses as scheduled. Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for 15 minutes. If the new bite is severe (Category III, let your doctor decide it)  you may need rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) again only if it wasn’t given earlier for the first bite. Case 2: You completed full vaccination recently (within 3 months–3 years) If you had a complete post-exposure vaccine series in the past 3 months to 3 years: You do not need the full 5-dose course again. Take only 2 booster doses of vaccine: Day 0 (day of new bite) Day 3 No RIG is needed this time. Case 3: More than 3 years since last vaccination If it’s been over 3 years since your last anti-rabies vaccination: Treat it like a fresh exposure - full post-exposure course (5 doses) again. Give RIG if bite is severe (Category III).
Next Steps
Immediately wash the wound with soap and running water for 15 minutes. Apply povidone-iodine (Betadine) if available. Do not cover with tight bandage.
Health Tips
Visit a doctor for wound assessment and vaccination decision.

Full protection is offered only after completion of vaccination. Often by 14 days u will be almost protected. The vaccination schedule must be completed. Exposure wound and  category need to be known to suggest regarding the further management.
Next Steps
Clean the wound thoroughly with soap under running water for atleast 20mins. complete the vaccination as per schedule.

Don’t panic. Wash the wound well. Continue your anti-rabies vaccine as scheduled RIG (immunoglobulin) is only needed if it was not given earlier and the new bite is severe (bleeding).

I completely understand why you’re anxious — you’ve been very responsible by taking every exposure seriously and following the vaccination schedules carefully. Let me explain this clearly and calmly so you can feel reassured. 🧠 What’s Happening in Your Case: You have received multiple intradermal Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV) courses in 2025: 1. First full course — completed 6 Aug 2025 (ID 0-3-7-28 schedule). 2. Second course — completed 19 Oct 2025 (likely as post-exposure booster 0-3-7). 3. Third exposure — on 23 Oct 2025, you started another course from 26 Oct 2025 (ID 0-3-7-28). ✅ The Good News: You are very well protected. Since you’ve already had two full series within the last few months, your immune system is already primed with strong antibodies. Taking another course does not harm or erase your previous immunity. Instead, it acts as a strong booster, increasing antibody levels even higher. The WHO and NCDC guidelines state that after a complete ARV series, any new exposure within 3 months to 3 years usually needs only 2 booster doses (days 0 and 3) — not a full course. However, taking the full course again is safe, even if unnecessary. 💉 About Repeated Vaccination: No long-term side effects are known from receiving extra rabies vaccines. Short-term effects may include mild: Local redness, swelling, itching at the injection site Mild fever or fatigue Headache or body pain These go away in a few days. No risk of antibody loss — your immunity gets stronger, not weaker. No cumulative toxicity or organ damage from extra ARV dose. ⚕️ What You Can Do: 1. You can relax. You’ve done more than enough to protect yourself — there’s no chance of losing protection now. 2. For future exposures (within 3 years), you’ll only need 2 booster doses (day 0 and day 3) — no full series again. 3. If you’re very anxious, you may ask your doctor for a rabies antibody titer test after a few weeks — this confirms strong immunity. ❤️ In Simple Words: You’re safe, protected, and did the right thing. Extra vaccines don’t harm you — they only boost your immunity. Your anxiety is understandable, but medically, there’s no danger and no long-term health issues . Good evening, If you’ve already completed your full rabies vaccination course within the past 3 months and are bitten or scratched again, don’t worry — you don’t need the full treatment again.
Next Steps
Here’s what to do: Clean the wound immediately with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes. No need for Rabies Immunoglobulin. You’ll just need two booster doses of the rabies vaccine — one on the day of the bite (Day 0) and another after 3 days (Day 3). If your last full vaccination was within the past 3 months, only proper wound washing is enough — no booster needed. If your previous vaccination details are unclear or were given many years ago, we’ll treat it as a new case and start a full course.
Health Tips
Take care and kindly avoid stray, sickly, or overly friendly wild animals and unknown pets. If an animal acts unusually aggressive or strangely tame, consider it a serious risk.

Hello    I understand your concern. During vaccination you are developing immunity. If you are bite by a dog, clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water. ERIG or HRIG can give more immunity. Kindly consult a doctor for the wound

Thank you for your question — I understand your worry. Please wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water and visit a clinic today. If you have already completed a full rabies vaccine course in the past, you will usually need two booster doses given on Day 0 and Day 3 (HRIG is not normally needed). If you were still in the middle of a vaccine course when this new bite happened, management may require HRIG and a full PEP — please get assessed immediately. For a one-on-one tele-consult to review your exact dates, vaccination records and to make a personalised plan, WhatsApp at_—Nine Three Two Six Zero Two Zero Five Three Six _—to book a slot. Depends on the type of bite, if it is just a scratch then just continue rabies vaccination as per schedule because you already have anyibodies developing against it. If deep skin bite with bleeding then will need local Injection of anti rabies immunoglobulin  along with continuation of vaccination course.
