1062 Views
If you have high blood pressure (BP), it's recommended to consult a: 1. Primary Care Physician (PCP): Your first point of contact for routine health check-ups and initial BP management. 2. Cardiologist: A heart specialist who can provide advanced care and treatment for hypertension and related heart conditions. 3. Nephrologist: A kidney specialist who can help manage BP and related kidney issues, especially if you have kidney disease. 4. Endocrinologist: A hormone specialist who can help manage BP and related hormonal imbalances, especially if you have conditions like adrenal gland disorders. In some cases, your PCP may refer you to a specialist depending on the severity of your condition and other health factors.

For blood pressure issues, it’s generally best to start with a physician, specifically an internal medicine specialist (internist) or a general practitioner. They can diagnose and manage most cases of high blood pressure (hypertension). However, if your blood pressure is difficult to control, or if there are signs of heart disease or other complications, your physician may refer you to a cardiologist for specialized care. Cardiologists are experts in heart-related conditions, including hypertension that’s related to cardiovascular issues.
