BRIEF
I am having hypertension and diabetes for the last 15 years. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with OSA(obstructive sleep apnea) after 'sleep test' by a pulmunologist. But my sleep was not sound and the nose used to get blocked after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and then I was forced to remain awake with sleep deficit day after day. This was even after usage of CPAP machine night after night. My workplace is UAE and whenever I visited Bangalore my nose used to get clogged which required me to visit doctor. In fact I was recommended to go for surgery of Deviated Nasal Septum(DNS).
PATHFORWARD
My cardiologist with Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi insisted that I should go for DNS surgery. In fact I was seeing this cardiologist for the first time in August 2023 after my earlier cardiologist with another hospital was out of town.
SEARCH FOR AN ENT SURGEON
I was scheduled for vacation in Bangalore and thought to get the surgery done for OSA. I tried to get hold of a good ENT doctor by seeking help through various social media groups. I browsed through the internet and got to see Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya's profile.
VISIT TO MANIPAL HOSPITAL AND MEETING DR.DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA.
With prior appointment I visited Dr. on 31st Oct'2023. Dr. Diptarka heard about my health issues. He then explained me the options available. It was a detailed explanation which is even understandable to any layman. The first thing he asked for was to get the CT scan of nose / skull. Within an hour of CT scan report and its analysis the surgery date was fixed on 2nd Nov.2023.
The surgery was successful and I got discharged on 3rd Nov.2023 and on 9th Nov.'2023 splints were removed.
ABOUT DR. DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA
My interactions with the Dr. prior and post surgery has given me the impression that he is a thorough professional. I zeroed on Dr.Diptarka just by going through his profile when I was on the look out for a qualified and experienced doctor. Literally, I fished out Dr. Diptarka from my internet search. I am glad that my choice of doctor tuned out to be so excellent.
Dr.Diptarka knows his craft well enough. He patiently explains the protocol he would execute during the course of treatment. More importantly he is open to queries from the patient to clear any iota of doubt. His amicable behaviour and body language puts the patient at ease and gives the assurance of a successful treatment.
THANKS TO DR. DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA AND HIS TEAM
Post surgery I am recuperating and getting sound sleep and this is indeed a gift for me for which I can't thank enough the Dr. and his team consisting of nurses and other doctors.
I must further mention that the support staff at reception ,billing, insurance, pharmacy, security, nursing station , janitors were extremely courteous and ever ready to help me out.
Once again thanks a lot Dr. and wish you all the best in your professional career.

My child has been suffering from a severe adenoid issue, we visited Dr Bhattacharyya in 2024 for the same, at that time the nasal spray was working and he suggested not to go for surgery till the medicines are responding. This did build a trust that the Dr. is not someone who pushes for surgeries.
Down the line in a year, the breathing problem did not improve very well, giving steroids for long just felt not right to us.
When my child would get cold he would breath from mouth for 2 weeks, he had so many sleepless nights. It was like a nightmare for us, we too could not see our child suffering. so much. We went to many doctors, took suggestions from all and everyone suggested surgery but no one could give us the confidence to go for it. A small 4 year old kid getting anaesthesia and surgery just felt so much of a risk and we as parents/family were scared.
On the other hand we could not handle seeing my child suffer each day. We went to Dr Bhattacharya again, and explained to him our experience. This time Dr Bhattacharya , straight away suggested going for surgery, he spent 30-40 minutes answering each of our questions. We shared with him how scared we are at the same time my child has been suffering for the last 3 years now. Interacting with Dr Bhattacharya we got the confidence to get the adenoidectomy done, we did the CT scan same day and decide to go for it.
Next week we scheduled the surgery, and his coordinator Srabani was also helpful in answering questions and setting things up. Dr Bhattacharya suggested scheduling the surgery early morning like 5 AM, as my kid is small and he needs to be on fasting for a long time, getting it done early morning will make sure he starts eating some food by early afternoon.
The surgery happened on 3rd March early morning, the surgery went well(1+hr), Dr Bhattacharya came before and after the surgery to share words and give us confidence that everything would be much better from now. Surgery ended around 7:30AM, I think it started around 5:30/6AM. Dr Bhattacharya came and told us how the surgery went, and it was the right decision to get the Adenoidectomy done as the tissues were getting inside the ear of my child, this could have started hampering his listening power drastically in coming months.
Following the surgery, we struggled to keep our child calm because he was in shock, unsure of what had happened. Getting so many antibiotics and cannula was just hard. My kid was so supportive he went through so much not just surgery but the adenoid issue for years. We left for home the same day in the night, Dr Bhattacharya also suggested we go unless it's urgent and serious.
At home things were a little better, for 1 week there were a bunch of medicines to be given.
After a long week, relief arrived as my child slept soundly and peacefully, without any snoring. For the first time in three years, he slept through the entire night without waking up due to breathing difficulties.
Since then life has changed like a flip of a coin. My kid does not breathe from mouth, he eats ice cream, he goes swimming, he takes bath everyday, he sleeps like a bear, he does not get sick every 2-3 weeks any more.
For us , life has changed, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Dr Bhattacharya.
Just a request to Dr Bhattacharya, even if you grow so much in life, please have the empathy and patience you have today.
Thank you Dr Bhattacharya and team.

Dr. Diptarka, surgeons like you are just not doctors but real life-savers. I am sending this note to send my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you so much for easing my pain and thank you for encouraging me when I was down. You are the perfect combination of responsibility and care. You are not only an extraordinary doctor but also an extraordinary human being. You are the best gift to society and the BEST ENT Doctor in the city. You are my superhero who gifted me another healthy life.I was suffering from chronic sinusitis daily with continuous sneeze, cold, throat ache every now and then and tinnitus issues for the past one year and I had visited many Tier 1 hospitals and seen all reputed ENT HOD Drs from each hospital like Apollo, Narayana Healths, Manipal Hal branch, AIIMs Delhi but I didn't receive any permanent solutions to my sinus problems. And I was checking out all options from everywhere keeping a follow up with you simultaneously. You have suggested surgery after checking out all possible options and finally, I underwent Functional Endoscopic Septum Surgery, Nasal Septum surgery three weeks back at Manipal Sarjapura Road and I am recovering well. You are always available and respond to my messages whenever I message you post surgery for any clarifications or any additional medications. What sets you apart is your detailed knowledge of medical issues, technical knowledge, modern surgical process and to understand patients'needs and being emphatic, treating patients with so much care. The way you treated and took care of me, I never felt like I was seeing a doctor, I always felt like my elder brother was taking care of me.You are a very skilful and most empathetic doctor in Bangalore and I will always recommend you for any ENT related issues. Thank you again Dr. Diptarka for not only restoring my nasal issues but also my overall well being and mental issues caused due to these chronic sinus issues I will always pray to God for your good health and long life.Continue to be a blessing to others through your profession.

After waiting for almost 1 hr 15 mins , doctor received me and started his inspection. The least I expect from a doctor is to do an impartial thorough checkup where he can park his presumptions at the bay.
Not just he was uninterested *** *** * ****** *** ** ********** *** ***** According to him my pain is caused because of incorrect position of my ulnar nerve but in last 30 years the position of that ‘funny nerve’ has never changed for me. Furthermore it is the same position in the other hand. He wasn’t able to explain why there was an elbow pain on weight bearing, screw tightening action and wrist clenching - which are the basics of examining the entire hand. And after 5 mins of inspection he advised - Surgery! Can you believe it. He didnt give any explanation to the blunt force trauma that I suffered and how it would have resulted in the pain.
By the end of 5 mins of his inspection he was so disinterested that he didnt cater to my other issue of neck pain. His diagnosis was that - it is due to lifestyle and there is nothing that can be done. I would have accepted that diagnosis if he would have been able to explain why this suddenly started only in last few weeks after my accident while the lifestyle has been like that for years.
I am glad that I got myself checked again from another doctor *** ********** ******** *** ********* *** ********* *** ******* ****** *********
Overall - wouldn’t recommend the hospital nor the doctor.
PS - Practo has mentioned the fees to be 500 but they charged me 850
