Happy with: Explanation of the health issue
No dought he is good doctor. His consultant fees we can consider but there's starting smallest procedure cost is 2000/- which is unreasonable under any grounds... Another thing is if patient has Mediclaim then according to rule of Mediclaim is we have to pay 10% of total expense of treatment under cashless system but they said we have to pay 10,000 deposit amounts because there is reimbursement system. According to me there is no true CASHLESS facility and REIMBURSEMENT system is not affordable for middle class people.. SO , this is my personal review. I am happy with doctor but not happy with unreasonable procedure cost and lack of real cashless facility...

I visited Dr. Umesh Shetty because of the proximity to my location. Went for a minor issue. Turned out to be the most over priced visit. The doctor prescribed medicines (multivitamins etc) worth rs. 8,000. The pharmacy at this clinic ** **** **** ** ** ******** and billed us for 12K, and on careful investigation we reduced the dosage to what was prescribed and it was still 8K. Treatment was ok, but the doctor charged too much. Went for 3 consultations, each consultation he charged 600, 7000 to put the cast on... and 1500 to take it off. It was highway robbery. On top of that, the hospital was also not that great (Axis/Aviva hospital). The washroom didn't even have a working light and the pharmacy didn't have some of the medicines I needed, I had to buy them from another pharmacy. Treatment was ok, but not happy being ripped off. I had a lot of swelling, and it was a Sunday, and this was the only appointment I could get, so had no choice but to take the req treatment from Dr. Umesh. But very overpriced, and would not recommend to anyone.

Waited 45 minutes as the Doctor was busy on a phone 📱 call in his consultation room, I wondered then why did he give the appointment and the staff had no Guts to appraise him that patient is waiting for so long. Frustration and pain broke my patience and I started to leave the clinic and to utter surprise the staff didn't even bother to ask as to why I was going this *********** ** ****** **** * ** *** *** **** *** *** *** ****** **** ********** **********BUT I decided to write so others can know the truth that goes here.

If an assistant takes the notes to save the time for the main doc, I do not have a problem with that. But if the assistant does half the diagnosis, tells me to get an X Ray without a deep understanding into the case, looks at the X Ray, directs me to the doctor, and as soon as I enter, just by watching me if he tells everything is alright? That is not the diagnosis I was expecting to pay for. After second opinion, I got to know the problem I had, which could have been taken care if this doctor spent time in analyzing the X Ray himself. I can jot down many more reasons, but to cut it short, he is not a doctor I would recommend to anyone.
