I do not recommend the doctor

I had visited for my daughter for some fungus in ear. She took 1200 Rs which was very high. Assuming that the doctor would give result we though it is fine. ***** *** **** ****** *** ******** *** ***** later when my daughter had visited for the followup. The doctor said that we were late by 3 days to meet her. She took 1000 again. Cost is very high (even for followup calls). ** **** **** *** ***** ***** ** *** *** *** ***** ***** *** ****** ** **** ****** ******* ** *** *** **** *** ** ******** ****** ** **** ** *******

Dear patient, Consultation charges are displayed on practo website, so that patient already has an idea about the charges before reaching me. Also, patients can confirm the charges before visiting the clinic when they call me for confirmation of an appointment. Charges are fixed and same for all the patients. Extremely sorry to say but the patients who feel that the charges are steep have low cost options as well. One is not obligated to visit me if one feels that the charges are high.

I went on 23 August 2021 for my son's ear wax removal, but on my today's visit she only gave me some ear drops for softening the wax and said that I have to come back after 5 days

She did not remove the ear wax on my first visit and charged me Rs 1200

She again has asked me to visit after 5 days Rs 1000 again consultation fees and 1500 for the wax removal procedure********* ******** * **** **** ** ******* ***** ******* *** *** *** *** ****** ****** ** *****

Two times consultation charge is exorbitant

Total ear wax removal I have to pay

1200+ 1000+ 1500 = 3700

Is this fair?

Dear patient/guardian, Consultation charges are displayed on the Practo site, so the patient already knows the charges before visiting the clinic. In your case, you were already informed about the charges when you called for the appointment. Consultation charges are fixed and same for all the patients irrespective of diagnosis and charges do not vary as per the number of medicines prescribed. For your kind information, wax cannot be removed when it is hard as that can cause more harm than good especially in enthusiastic children such as yours and this was explained to you explicitly during the consultation. Softening of the wax does not occur after just two instillations of the ear drops as you expected, it needs some time and therefore you were instructed to come back after five days. Wax removal being an OPD procedure is charged extra and it is only fair that you are informed about the charges five days before the procedure and not after the procedure. Extremely sorry to say that if one finds the charges to be on the higher side, one has low cost options also available. One is not obligated to visit me if one feels the charges are high. Take care.

1. The amount taken was more than quoted on site. Ie. Rs 1000 Vs Rs 800.

2. MR people intrudes in between queue.
