Viral gastroenteritis is an inflammation of stomach and intestine caused by any number of viruses, this illness is contagious spread through contaminated water and food. Easily spreads in school, day care, hospital and crowded places.

Commonest viruses are:

1. Rota virus

2. Noro virus

Rotavirus commonly affects infants and younger kids who then spread the infection to other children. It usually spreads orally, symptoms come in first 2 days of a infection with vomiting, loose motion. June and December are worst hit period.

SYMPTOMS:

1. Watery diarrhoea   

2. Nausea                   

3. Vomiting

4. Fever
