When Mugdha (name changed) first came to us, she looked exhausted.
Fear and disappointment were written all over her face.
She said, “Doctor told me my AMH is very low. I probably cannot have a baby. IVF with donor eggs is my only option.”
She was only 27 years old.
That single number on a report—low AMH—had already convinced her that motherhood might not be possible.
We told her,“Let’s pause. Let’s first understand the whole story.”
What AMH tells us—and what it doesn’t.
AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) gives an idea about ovarian reserve—the approximate number of eggs remaining.
But AMH does not tell us:
- Whether pregnancy can occur naturally
- Whether IVF is mandatoryWhether donor eggs are needed
- What the egg quality is like
