Does it hurt? Show me where? A very commonly asked question. A question which is justified if one can show a physical bruise or bump on their body. Now the question is, is there a kind of pain that cannot be shown. Yes there is. Pain management talks about the pains that are visible and the pains that are not.

Many of our pains are related to due continuous neglect. Some due to old injuries , some due to work and some just because one feels it. There are a lot of causes. Pains can range from headaches or neck pains to back aches to psychosomatic and so on. When it becomes chronic we generalize it and say  ” It is all in your head”. Well the truth is, of course it is in the head.

Pain is a perception. It is subjective. We have ample scoring systems for pain but most of them are based on the expression of the discomfort the person is in. Now there are scientific gadgets that probably would try and gauge how much it hurts.

The reason for writing this article is to make everyone understand that sometimes these tiny aches can turn into chronic pains causing issues. These could range from inability to perform daily chores to loss of work efficiency. Most of all no one wants a nagging pain.
