Patients who have suffered from COVID and recoveree from it, can still have sequalae of COVID. Patients can have persistent cough, breathlessness or oxygen requirement. This is mostly due to lung fibrosis or ILD that develops after viral pneumonias. ILD is a progressive disease where there is impairment of oxygention and can lead to permanent damage to lungs.
CT scan or Xray chest is required atleast 2 weeks after COVID to rule out lung fibrosis.
