What is blindness?
Person's vision is less than or equal to 3/60 (Recent Guidelines by Govt Of India). A normal person has 6/6 vision. Corneal blindness can be avoided by donation of eyes. In eye donation, only corneas are removed from the recipient. It is replaced by abnormal cornea from a donor. No other part of the eye is replaced. Example, A patient is having Optic Nerve disease, it can not be replaced by eye donation.
