Every single person wants a great looking skin so start by knowing your skin type then only you will know how to take care of it and choose the right products for your daily care regime.
- Dry Skin: Is Flaky, Scaly or Rough.
- Oily Skin: Is Shiny, Greasy and may have big open pores.
- Combination Skin: Is dry in some spots (cheeks) and oily in others (T-zone).
- Sensitive Skin: May sting or itch and sometimes burn after using some makeup or products.
- Normal Skin: Is balanced, clear and not sensitive.
Cleanser: Do not just grab whatever soap or face wash to wash your face. You don't have to buy expensive products. You just need to find the right skin care product that works for you. Use a gentle cleanser to cleanse your face. Rinse with plenty of water.
Cleansing for dry: Use gentle cleanser free from alcohol and fragrance, they can dry your skin out even more. Avoid using hot water because it removes natural oils from face faster.
Cleansing for oily skin: If you have oily skin use an oil-free foaming cleanser to wash your face. Rinse with plenty of warm water it will help you to remove extra oil making your face less shiny and clean.
Cleansing for Sensitive Skin: Use very gentle alcohol-free and rinse with warm water. Do not rub, avoid exfoliating it may irritate your skin. Choose a product that contains Aloe, Chamomile, green tea, and oats. The fewer ingredients in skin care products the happier your face may be.
Toner: Toner is a great step to add to your skincare routine to maintain clear and healthy skin. Traditionally, toners were used to restore your skin’s pH balance after cleansing. But today’s toners do that and so much more.
During warm weather months, a toner can come in handy to combat breakouts caused by sweat, sunblocks and dirt clogging our pores. Our skin also tends to be more oily during sticky summer days. Toner is most helpful if you have acne prone skin. Choose an alcohol-free toner and simple soothing facial toner.
Moisturizer: You might think you don't require moisturizer but all skin needs moisturizer. If you have oily Acne or oily skin choose oil-free and non-comedogenic moisturizer so that it did not block the pores. For dry skin choose a moisturizer that soothes dryness and has long-lasting hydrating benefits. For sensitive skin choose lightweight fragrance-free moisturizer this will ensure your skin does not get irritated.
Sunscreen: The sun can damage your skin in just a few minutes. Look for a sunscreen that works for both UVA and UVB rays with an SPF of at least 30. Wear it every day especially 20 mins before you step out in sun and re-apply after every two to three hours. Dry skin craves for moisture and so sunscreen with moisturizing ingredients is ideal for this type of skin. The oily skin comes with the risk of acne or allergy. It is best to avoid cream based products. Choose water-based sunscreen. For sensitive skin choose hypoallergenic and fragrance-free sunblocks.
