Whatever food you eat leads to plaque deposit on the entire surface of the teeth. Plaque is a colorless, sticky film of bacteria that constantly forms on teeth. The bacteria in plaque further reacts with food to produce acids that attacks and weakens tooth enamel i.e. the hard protective covering of our teeth. The weakened tooth enamel further leads to cavities. Plaque deposits can also irritate gums, leading to gum disease which in its early stage is called gingivitis
