1. EAR ACHE

A Earache is a common problem and a very painful aliment that affects both adults as well as children. It can be caused by a cold, flu, allergies, bacterial, dust and a viral presence in the ear. The first and foremost thing is stop putting anything into ear. Let it be cotton swabs, fingers, bobby pins etc. These all can cause damage to eardrum and increase chances of something getting in your eardrum, which could be an infection.

Home Remedy

  • Add a clove of garlic to a teaspoon of sesame oil and warn it on fire. Lie down and pour 2-3 drops of the oil in the affected ear. Allow it to stay in the ear for at least 10 minutes. 
  • Grind and extract juice from basil (tulsi) leaves. Put 2 drops inside the affected ear.    
  • Warn some seeds of fenugreek in mustard or linseed oil. Once it is cool, filter the oil and put 4-5 drops of the oil in each ear.

2. DARK CIRCLES

According to Ayurveda, one’s health and poor eating habits are reflected in the face, especially around the eyes. Skipping breakfast, consuming a lot of cold drinks and caffeine, eating too quickly can stress the digestive system. Dark circles can also be caused by anemia and lack of sleep.

Home Remedies

  • Place cotton pads dipped in cucumber juice or rose water on eyes for 15 minutes.
  • Apply peeled and grated potato overnight around the eyes and eye lids.
  • Every morning, after washing your face with warm water, apply the mixture of tomato and lime juice around the eyes. Wash after 30 minutes.

3. CRACKED HEELS

Dry/cracked feet are a sign of lack of attention towards your body and one of the worst nightmares for most women. Some of the causes of cracked heels are dry air, lack of moisture, improper foot care, an unhealthy diet, aging, prolonged standing on hard floors and wearing the wrong types of shoes.

Home Remedies

  • Apply a mixture of glycerin and rosewater.
  • Squeeze a lemon in 1/4 bucket of water. Soak feet for 10 to 15 minutes in warm water. Wash your feet using soap and pumice stone Wash your feet and pat dry with a towel.
  • Make an exfoliating scrub using rice flour and few teaspoons of honey and apple cider vinegar. Stir until it becomes a thick paste. Add a tablespoon of olive oil or sweet almond oil. Soak your feet in warm water for 10 minutes and then gently scrub them with the rice flour paste.
  • Massage your heels with coconut oil before bedtime.

4. MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

About 70% of all women have pain and cramps (Dysmenorrhea) with their monthly menstrual cycles. It can occur both before and during a woman’s menstrual period, and the pain can range from dull and annoying to severe and extreme.

Home Remedies

  • Boil a piece of ginger in a cup f water for five minutes. You can add a little honey and lemon juice to it. Filter and drink this tea three times a day during your menstrual cycle.
  • Add some basil leaves to one cup of boiling water. Cover tightly and allow it to cool. Drink this every few hours to ease cramps. Alternatively, crush a handful of basil leaves to extract the juice. Add two teaspoons of the juice to one cup of warm water. Drink this three times daily while having pain.
  • Make cinnamon tea or add cinnamon to your food and consume it before your period starts to prevent cramps.

5. DRY COUGH

A dry cough is a type of cough that doesn’t produce any sputum or phlegm. Such type of cough is common when you develop a viral infection of the nose or throat. It may also be the outcome of an exposure to allergens and dusty environments. It can be terribly uncomfortable as if something’s stuck in the throat. 

Home Remedies

  • Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and carom seeds to boiling water and let it boil until only half of it remains. Add a little honey to this solution and take it thrice a day. You can also drink warm milk with some turmeric to experience relief for dry cough.
  • Add crushed ginger to water and boil. Once cooled off, take it at least thrice a day for dry cough relief.
  • Mix one teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water. Take a sip, gargle for 15 seconds, and spit. Take another sip and repeat the same for a few more times.
  • Mix a teaspoon of honey in a glass of hot milk and drink it before going to bed. This will help you sleep better and make it easier to get relief from the coughing.
