Happy to share that I have been featured on Femina, November 2017 issue.
Answered some commonly asked questions and more:
Q: I am 28. I will get married next month. My front teeth are very yellow and overlap each other. What can be done to correct my problems quickly?
Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic(porcelain) or a composite material which are bonded to the front of the teeth. They can make your teeth look white and straight in less than a week. Veneers are very long lasting and even come with a 15-year warranty.
Q: Help! I have been advised a root canal. I am terrified of pain. Should I get the tooth pulled out?
A root canal is done under local anaesthesia. The tooth and tissues around will be numb during the procedure. Minor discomfort and soreness after treatment are taken care of by medicines and ice application. Do not worry and don’t have the tooth removed if it can be saved.
Q: My lower 2 molars were removed 1 year ago. I am 58. What is the best way to replace them?
The best way to replace missing tooth or teeth is a dental implant(s). It is a metal fixture placed in the jaw (usually a screw). It acts as a support or anchor for a new false tooth or teeth.
Q: I am 40 years old.I have crooked front teeth. I do not want to wear metallic braces at this age.
You have many choices today. Ceramic ( tooth coloured) braces are barely visible; lingual braces are attached to the back of the teeth. Clear aligners, virtually invisible plastic plates are another choice.
Q: My baby is 8 months old. When should I take him for a dental check-up?
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends check-up by one year of age.
