Gas in the abdomen is a common problem in all over the world among all age of patients.

What are the Gas Related Symptoms?

1. History and physicalexamination

2.Blood test likecomplete blood count and liver function test to look for malabsorbtion

3.Stool test forGiardia and Fat 

4.Upper GI endoscopy tolook for Hiatus Hernia and H pylori infection

5.Hydrogen breath test to look for lactose intolerance and small intenstinal bacterial overgrowth

6.Rule out celiacdisease

7.Rectal manometry andcolonic transit study who have chronic constipation 

 Treatment

1.Maintainthe food diary and try to  limit the dietaryingestion of foods such as: -cabbage -onions -broccoli -brussel sprouts - Beans- Wheat- potatoes-complex carbohydrate 

2-Ifbacterial overgrowth or an altered flora is strongly suspected,then antibioticwill help

3-Identify themedication like acarbose,lactulose and sorbitol that produces gas

4-Avoidmilk product who has lactose intolerance

5.Treat the psychological factors also
