Maintaining good oral hygiene is the first step towards achieving great smile. And the easiest way to do it is brushing your teeth properly.
Here are five steps for proper brushing technique.
1. Use a soft toothbrush. Hold the brush at a 45 degree angle against the gumline, use short back and forth strokes and sweep or roll the brush away from gumline. Do not scrub or use a lot of pressure.
2. Brush the inner surface of the back teeth, by placing the bristles at 45 degree angle again. Repeat short back and forth strokes and sweep or roll the brush away from gumline.
3. Turn the brush and use the tip to clean the front inner surface of the upper and lower front teeth.
4. Clean the chewing surfaces using a scrubing motion.
5. Brush your tongue.
