  • Off late many online shopping site are advertising and encouraging customers to buy medicines from them online like other commodities.
  • It is against law and patient safety norms to sale medicine in such a way, these sites are even selling prescription only medicines online.
  • Sale by prescription only medicines can only be sold on production of a valid prescription, written and  signed  by a qualified registered medical practitioner as consumption of these medicine without proper supervision can be injurious to health.
  • The online shopping sites are allowing patients to upload scanned copies of their doctor's prescription and are selling medicines against it.
  • There is no way of authenticating these prescription as in this age of " digital India" any one can photoshop a doctors prescription, write whatever medicine, forge doctor's signature, up load and buy medicines.
  • This arrangement has made it very easy for drug addicts to buy medicines like sleeping pills and narcotics. Medicines like sleeping pills and narcotics are not sold unless prescribed by doctor as use of these medicine by drug addicts or drug peddler is very common. Also consumption of these medicine in improper dose can result in DEATH of the patient.
  • Now that all these drugs are available on line, the door are open for drug addicts, they can have what ever they want.
  • Such availability of drug will spoil the young generation as they will use these drugs for RAVE PARTIES, DATE RAPES  and even for harming others.
