Wisdom tooth pain usually begins during the eruption process of wisdom or when the wisdom tooth is grossly decayed.
The areas of wisdom tooth pain include:
- The pain primarily begins in the region of wisdom tooth i.e. gums and posterior corners of mouth.
- Pain radiates on one side of face near ears and jaws.
- When the infection has increased a lot, there may be headache and difficulty in swallowing.
- Patient experiences difficulty in chewing.
- Opening and closing of mouth also becomes difficult.
- When there is excessive intra and extra oral swelling, patient may experience reduced mouth opening.
- In some cases patient may have fever due to infection.
- Some patients may experience swelling in throat region too.
Teeth adjacent to wisdom tooth may also lead to pain in these areas. It's necessary to get clinical examination done if you experience pain, swelling or discomfort.
