Hypno birthing :

Till date women have been inundated with negative stories of birth experiences  thus conditioned to believe that excruciating pain is associated with labor and because of this women today hold an unprecendented fear of giving birth.

Through  a very simple program of self hypnosis and education, healthy low risk women and small part of high risk women, learn to dismiss fear-based stories, misinformation & birthing myths and they are replaced to see birth as normal. They learn to trust that their bodies know how to bring their babies into the world in a calm & gentle way that Nature intended.

Water birthing:

It’s not a Fad or Trend ! It’s evidenced based practice in hospitals, birth centers & home births through out the world. Laboring and/or birthing takes place in a birthing pool filled with warm water, instead on dry land. The partner can get into the pool if wished. The effect of buoyancy that deep water immersion creates, enables easy spontaneous movement free from gravity’s pull on her body and acts like a catalyst to reduce stress and in return relax. Thus instead of nor-adrenaline & catecholamines (the stress hormones) which increases the blood pressure, inhibit or slow the labor the endorphins ( the pain inhibitors or happy hormones) will be produced that complement labor in great way. Many women, midwives and doctors acknowledge the analgesic effect of water.

New born’s will not float in the water as ther is no buoyancy from air in the lungs yet. The feeling of air in the skin and change in the temperature triggers the breathing reflex but still gets oxygen via the umbilical cord which is attached to the placenta ( the same as its when in the uterus).

VBAC:

Our knowledge, experience and research has replaced  “ once C-section always C-section” by VBAC that is vaginal birth after C-section. This does’nt mean that everyone can have only vaginal delivery. C-section is a blessing when used judiciously. The success rate depends mainly on the indications why c-section was done in the first place. This can curtail the present high C-section rates of 73 % in Bangalore to the average international standard of 28% - 32 %. That does not still mean that there will be no c-sections, it should be judiciously executed.
