- Concentrate on what you can eat rather than what you cannot eat.
- Consume small frequent meals.
- Increase intake of raw and green leafy veg.
- Avoid beverages, bakery food, organ meats, red meat, alcohol, sugar.
- Use skimmed milk, preferably cows.
- Soya products, ragi, bajra, wheat, sprouts, soups should be taken frequently. Red rice is preferred over white.

- Do not skip your meals. If meal is delayed have fruits, buttermilk, biscuits, at that time.
- Eat in slow and relaxed manner.
- Do not ignore wounds, cracks, growths, soreness, redness, pricks etc.
- Never walk barefoot and keep feet clean and dry. Wear proper fitting shoes and avoid pointed shoes, high heals, sandals without toe-grips and open ones.
- Blood sugar should be checked once in 4 months.
- 30 min of brisk walking necessary 3-4/week.

- Identify situations that trigger out-of-control eating.
