1. Concentrate on what you can eat rather than what you cannot eat.
  2. Consume small frequent meals.
  3. Increase intake of raw and green leafy veg.
  4. Avoid beverages, bakery food, organ meats, red meat, alcohol, sugar.
  5. Use skimmed milk, preferably cows.
  6. Soya products, ragi, bajra, wheat, sprouts, soups should be taken frequently. Red rice is preferred over white.
  7. Methi and turnips are reduce blood sugar.
  8. Do not skip your meals. If meal is delayed have fruits, buttermilk, biscuits, at that time.
  9. Eat in slow and relaxed manner.
  10. Do not ignore wounds, cracks, growths, soreness, redness, pricks etc.
  11. Never walk barefoot and keep feet clean and dry. Wear proper fitting shoes and avoid pointed shoes, high heals, sandals without toe-grips and open ones.
  12. Blood sugar should be checked once in 4 months.
  13. 30 min of brisk walking necessary 3-4/week.
  14. Small meals at frequent intervals.
  15. Include more raw and half boiled vegetables and sprouts, whole grains.
  16. Identify situations that trigger out-of-control eating.
  17. Monitor your weight regularly.
  18. Be consistent.
