If you are trying to conceive and suspect that you might be pregnant, it's generally recommended to avoid unnecessary dental treatments, especially X-rays, during the early stages of pregnancy. While dental X-rays emit low levels of radiation and the risk to the developing fetus is considered minimal, it's still best to err on the side of caution.
If you're uncertain about your pregnancy status because it's too early to confirm with a pregnancy test, it's advisable to wait until you have a definitive result before scheduling any non-urgent dental treatments or X-rays. It's important to prioritize the health and well-being of both you and your potential pregnancy.
In the meantime, you can continue practicing good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing regularly, and maintaining a healthy diet. If you experience any dental pain or discomfort, you can consult your dentist, informing them about your potential pregnancy and seeking their advice on the best course of action.
Remember, it's always a good idea to discuss your specific situation with a healthcare professional, such as your dentist or obstetrician, who can provide personalized guidance based on your medical history and pregnancy status.
If a patient is trying to conceive. -She can get xrays done. This is as per many medical associations in India and abroad. But make sure you inform the dentist. So that all precautions are taken. Hope this helps
