Hi. I have attached my opg here. Can anyone confirm from the opg whether my lower right wisdom tooth removal will result in nerve injury? I am anxious about it. Have no problem with the wisdom tooth till now.l but there's a big cavity.
Looking for suggestions. Should I wait till the pain comes or remove it. Pls suggest.
Thanks in advance.

Hi , there is no need to be anxious about it . Your concern is genuine and we are here to give you the best consultation.
First , OPG might not reveal the approximation of your tooth to the nerve rather get a CBCT done for much better clarity or visit a professional OMFS surgeon.
Second , waiting for the pain to occur may result in seeping of infection to the underneath bone . Therefore visit your nearest dental professional.

Hello, no it will not as the nerve runs buccally to the tooth impacted.
As this is an 2D xray it won't be visible to you, for more we need cbct.
But looking at this opg, there won't be any damage to the nerve, if removed.
Next Steps
you need to get it removed as ts impinging on the adjacent tooth .
Hello !
First of all there’s nothing to be anxious about please relax
It’s a very simple procedure and will be done under local anaesthesia so you won’t be feeling anything you can trust me on this , secondly by your OPG you definitely need to get an extraction done because this can further cause more infections and as it is pushing the adjacent teeth it can damage it as well so before you have to get both of your teeth removed, remove this one !
Next Steps
If you’re too anxious to get it out because of getting your mandibular nerve getting affected
You can go to a oral & maxillofacial surgeon they are highly trained for it ( though a general experienced dentist also do such procedures on a regular basis)
The third molar on the lower left side is impacted and also has deep caries. The roots of the tooth are close to mandibular canal. Instead of waiting for the pain or infection it's better to visit a Dentist and get it removed.
There is nothing to get anxious about ., it's a common procedure.
Before the procedure do inform the dentist if u have any drug allergies or any past medical history.
Discuss with the doctor about the procedure and clarify all ur concerns
Next Steps

Health Tips
