Hello Sir,
I am Dr.Irfan CHHERAWALA
Dental Surgeon
Yes you will recover soon.
What is important is the area be regularly irrigated with irrigating solutions by the dentist concerned , to decompress the effected nerve .
Since it is 20 days post-extracting, you must show ypur concerned dentist as soon as possible.
Next Steps
Visit the dentist immediately where an OPG X-ray and CBCT scan will give a clear picture of the PROGNOSIS.
Health Tips
Avoid sleeping from side of the operated side.
Avoid unnecessary bending which can spread residual infection in the tissue spaces.
Do not brush or use finger in the effected area..
Thank you.
Please take care.
Get well soon.

When the wisdom tooth is in close proximity with the underlying nerve, there maybe numbness and tingling. It may need 3-6 months to recover completely.
Lower wisdom tooth are normally very close to the nerve and sometimes can be injured while removal. However this numbness is reversible 90 % of the times and you will regain your sensations soon. However visiting your dentist to take some medication to help fast repair of nerve help a lot. Some specific steriods taken immediately are extremely helpful in such cases
Next Steps
