Why does my gums look so red?
Help. I have gums that looks extremely red for years now. I am worried it could be something bad. I had tartar cleanup few months ago but it still looks the same. I attach the before cleanup image and latest image.

Hello,
This redness is gingival inflammation because of local irritation that has been caused by hard deposits known as calculus. This calculus deposit can been seen in these two front teeth i am sure deposits must be more in backside of this tooth as it is causing gums to recede downward . This needs to be cleaned professionally by scaling this redness will go away after that.
