GLP-1 medications can be effective for weight management in eligible individuals, but since you are still breastfeeding, even if it is mainly for comfort, I would not recommend starting any weight loss medication independently. Safety during lactation needs careful evaluation by an obesity medicine specialist or endocrinologist.
Next Steps
1. Consult an endocrinologist or obesity-medicine specialist before considering GLP-1 medication. 2. Get a complete assessment, including BMI, thyroid profile, blood glucose/HbA1c and other relevant metabolic parameters. 3. Follow a personalised nutrition plan with an appropriate calorie deficit and adequate protein. 4. Include regular walking, strength training and physical activity according to your fitness level.
Health Tips
Avoid crash diets, prolonged fasting and unsupervised weight loss injections or medications. GLP-1 medications can cause gastrointestinal side effects and may reduce appetite considerably, making adequate nutritional intake challenging.

GLP-1 weight loss medicines aren't recommended while you're still breastfeeding, even just for comfort, because there isn't enough safety data yet on how much passes into breast milk. This isn't something to start right now.
Next Steps
Diet changes and regular activity are the safer route while nursing continues, and a dietitian or your gynaecologist can help build a realistic plan around your current routine.
Health Tips
Once you've fully weaned, please consult your physician about GLP-1 options, since they can then weigh it against your overall health.
