It is quite common for patients to experience weakness after an infection, as the body undergoes a phase of healing and repair. During this recovery period, a wide range of symptoms may be present. Ensure proper hydration Take several small, light meals every 2–3 hours instead of the usual three large meals Get sufficient bed rest
Next Steps
Take care of the hydration and give easily digestable protein rich foods.
Health Tips
Watch for any alarming symptoms

Post-typhoid weakness and altered taste (everything tasting sour/bitter) are quite common and can take several weeks to recover. This happens due to slow healing of the gut and low nutrition levels. What you can do: Give her a soft, easily digestible diet (khichdi, dal, curd rice, fruits, soups). Ensure good hydration with plenty of fluids, coconut water, ORS. Add multivitamins and probiotics (after consulting a doctor). Adequate rest and sleep are important.
Next Steps
If she develops persistent high fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, or weight loss, please get her evaluated again with blood tests (CBC, LFT, typhoid serology).
Health Tips
Recovery is usually gradual, so don’t worry—she will feel better with time and supportive care.
