If u are looking for weight loss the diet should contain low Carbohydrate, low fat and moderate protein. For which protein shakes are not really required. Instead natural protein sources can be consumed like lean meat, nuts, eggs, soya, milk and milk products preferably slim or a Double toned milk, dals and legumes.
Protein powder is usually advised for people who do muscle building and strengthening.
