Vitamin D increase the absorption and  usefulness of calcium in the body . You have to take calcium along with vitamin D. You can try taking antacid before taking calcium or switch to CCM (GSK) which causes less GI symptoms.

It is essential to take calcium along with vitamin d treatment dose. If you are getting only daily dose of vitamin d , calcium from food is fine. Take Omez or antacid before taking calcium. Vitamin d mobilises calcium from blood to bones- with treatment dose chances of low calcium in blood is there.
