UTI after inguinal hernia surgery
Hi I am 26 male, Recently diagnosed with UTI infection in which many medicine was restricted then Amikacin injections were given once a day for 5 day and then Ceflox 500 tablet issued. There is pain in Groin and testicles also. Uroflowmetry report was also low. Recently on 8 Feb i was operated for lap hernia surgery of inguinal hernia. Is there any chance that UTi can damage the mesh used ? My surgeon is no more available in the hospital to be consulted again. Can UTI affect my hernia mesh repair by infection or any way or uti is caused bcoz of it? Bcoz more than a month gone but still pain is there and also fever and diarrhea are coming alternatively.

What happened to your Surgeon? Amikacin Injection given once a day is inadequate treatment. Did you get your urine culture done or is it self medication? Your mesh will be affected if you develop infection of the abdominal wound or of the ports for laparoscopy. And the way you are telling that you fever and diarrhea even one month after the operation, the chances of infection are very high.
