Hello mam! Although it’s difficult to make a diagnosis reading the question as the history of pain and its nature is not very clear, but considering the age and the pain in upper arm, this might be due to a rotator cuff tear. These lesions are very common in this age and typically cause worse pain in night while patient tries to sleep toward the affected side. If there is a history of fall this may also be associated with a minor fracture of the upper arm or shoulder blade.
U would need to consult your orthopaedic doctor for precise diagnosis. Thanks
