3 Years back I got an injury while playing basketball. My right knee twisted.. Nothing was seen in Xray. MRI was done and a tear was diagnosed.
Consulted a renown sports injury doctor and he recommended to let it heal on its own. I was told to take Crocin pain relief whenever it pains. After 6 months my knee got better. I went for physiotherapy for 2 months.
Since then, i have been facing a lot of knee pain in both my knees. The pain is so unbearable that i fall in tears and i can't take it.. it happens mostly in night. I tried applying volini, heat pad, cold pad, wearing knee cap. But nothing works. It happens atleast 3 times in a month..
I have no issues in walking, climbing stairs, stretching or exercising.
Would love to have a recommendation on this. Thank you

The history you provided is not sufficient and clinical examination is must. But still probable diagnosis can be
1) Radicular pain coming from lower back
2) Chondromalacia
Next Steps
back extension excercises
quadriceps strengthening excercises
avoid sitting crosslegged
High protein diet
Collagen and Glucosamine supplements
A very straightforward opinion- please see some orthopaedic surgeon (me or someone else) who can examine you and diagnose it. Please take all your previous records with you.
If this is a ACL tear, then better to get it reconstructed especially if you have instability.
If this is a meniscus tear, then also pain bothers you quiet a lot for a longer time (3yrs).
You are just 21, better to go for intervention than to suffer.
Miss!!!, this is a chronic condition now, to me it looks like a combination of nerve and joint issue. I need to examine you and start treatment properly. There are many good treatment available which can treat you without surgery. But you need a thorough and revised evaluation.
Till the time you can take tab paracetamol as it is associated with least side effects.
Next Steps
get a repeat MRI if not done in last 1 year
NCV rt leg to test any nerve related problem
Health Tips
exercise gradually and increase duration of warmups.
use cold packs instead of hot
