Hi, Inability in mouth opening could be because of spread of infection or muscle spasm or it also can be because of injury to nerve during anaesthesia. You need to take muscle relaxant, antibiotics, B complex medication. Follow proper Root canal treatment.

Take Muscle relaxant tablets. Guess your dentist should have prescribed it already. Do mouth opening excercise. If it doesnt work visit the dentist he ll help open your mouth forcefully or with the help of an instrument. After that also you should do mouth opening excercise.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist and get your mouth opened.

(1) not to worry (2) to guide u: ask your brother to get regular check up from a dentist every 6 months to avoid any tooth disease, which would avoid him to go through treatment and it's complications. [Prevention is better than cure]
