Hi there, I understand your concern. Please don't be worried. Trismus following lower wisdom tooth removal is common and can be managed. You will recover for sure and will be able to open your mouth and be free from pain in the next few days. Kindly take the prescribed med without skipping as it is a painkiller and muscle relaxant combination that helps you with your pain and trismus. Also, you will be advised certain mouth-opening exercises after stitches removal which will help relax your jaw muscles thereby attaining a full range and pre-surgery mouth opening.
Next Steps
Kindly visit your dentist for stitches removal at the said appointment. We do not need a full mouth opening for it and the whole procedure might take a couple of minutes only. If you want to delay your visit by one or two days till you feel comfortable, that's fine too but inform your treating surgeon and get your appointment rescheduled.
Health Tips
1. Avoid hard and chewy foods till this settles completely. 2. Take all doses of the prescribed meds at correct intervals without skipping.
