Tooth extraction
I had undergone root canal treatment of the lower molar and after one session of root canal, I was told that I have to do wisdom tooth extraction to accommodate the crown. I did root canal and wisdom tooth extraction with tooth grafting done.
Now I have developed a swelling near the extraction site and I was advised to take x ray which I did as seen in the second photo attached. Now again they are asking me to go for upper wisdom tooth extraction as there is infection. I have marked it in green.
I don't know how far it is true as I don't feel any pain in the upper wisdom tooth area. Even the root canal I think was unnecessary instead a filling would have been sufficed as seen in the first photo attached.
Please advise.

Lower second molar root canal treatment and wisdom tooth extraction was the correct treatment.
When u had taken the treatment of extraction of wisdom tooth? Usually after wisdom tooth extraction and it was horizontally impacted swelling post surgery for a few days is common.
Can you mention the area of swelling? Or send the photograph.
Proper evaluation is necessary.

It is advisable to get the upper wisdom tooth removed. Swelling post extraction is common.

From what you’ve shared, it seems that the cavity in your lower second molar is very close to the nerve of the tooth (called the pulp chamber) and also there appears to be a filling under which the cavity has developed. That’s why your dentist had advised you to go for a root canal treatment (RCT), to save the tooth and prevent further pain or infection.
Also, your lower third molar (wisdom tooth) was pushing against the roots of your second molar. If left in place, it could have caused more damage or another cavity (secondary caries) in the second molar. So removing it was a good decision.
Similarly, your upper third molar is also pressing against the upper second molar. If not removed, it might cause a cavity there too, or even damage the root of the second molar over time. That’s why your dentist is recommending removing it now — to protect the second molar and avoid the need for another root canal later.

The root canal of the 2nd molar was necessary and also the extraction of wisdom tooth as it could harm the root canal treated tooth in future. So both the treatment approach was right. Some swelling after wisdom tooth extraction is normal and will go away in few days

There appears to be an infection near the root and back side (distal/apical area) of your upper left wisdom tooth. This could be due to decay, an impacted position, or an infected nerve. Extraction is commonly advised in such cases to avoid further spread of infection.If you're having pain, swelling, or other symptoms, extraction is usually recommended to prevent the infection from spreading or recurring! And also, Filling alone is not sufficient; placing a crown after RCT is important. Without a crown, there's a higher risk of RCT failure and reinfection.

Proper crown placement is also very important to protect the tooth. As for the 38 molar, it’s usually okay to extract it if needed — it doesn’t affect chewing much.
Swelling after lower wisdom tooth (38) extraction can be normal for a few days. Apply cold compress, take prescribed medications, and avoid hard or hot foods. If swelling increases or pus/pain worsens, visit your dentist

The upper wisdom tooth does not seem to show any infection. The lower wisdom tooth extraction and the root canal of the tooth ahead of it was required as the decay was too deep for just a filling.
Next Steps
A clinic examination is required along with an IOPA of the tooth involved to get a clearer picture.
