Hi sir....   Yellowish stains are due to many cause...    ** plaque and calculus **coffee and tea stains **flurosis ** Genetics **smoking ** Trauma... **If that yellowish discolouration is due to plaque,calculus,smoking ,it can be removed by ultrasonic scaling(cleaning) itself... **If that yellowish discolouration is due to mild flurosis,genetics then you can go for inoffice  teeth whitening ... Teeth whitening cannot cause any problem...some people will feel mild sensitivity temporarily...

Teeth whitening with bleaching causes teeth sensitivity..go for bleaching if your teeth are really dark.. otherwise you cannot see much difference in colour change
