Swelling can be due to food lodgement or infection persiisting in the tooth.tou should visit the dentist for x-ray and proper diagnosis.you can get online consultation for further queries.

It could be because of gum inflammation you can apply gum astringent such as stolin gum paint....it pain is not subsiding than get x-ray done for particular tooth

Normally there won't be any problem after capping. If there is any such swelling it may be as a result of infection or inflammation.

The history of the tooth that has been treated requires more details - has that tooth been done root canal treatment before placing the cap ? Is that tooth mobile ? Do you have X-ray of the tooth before the treatment carried out.
