•Its because of deposits inside ur gum area.you need to go for a teeth cleaning (scaling) so that the gum infection will get reduced & it will take few days to heal ur gums & subside to its orginal position. •do warm salt water gargling and do not touch that area with finger or nails or tooth pick that can prompt  bleeding.

Your gum is swollen due to deposits on your teeth. Do see a dentist for cleaning.  You will be given medicines and ointment to help the gum heal which would in a maximum of 2 weeks after  scalong Meanwhile rinse with salt in lukewarm water after every meal. Do not bite with your front teeth. Use an ultra soft bristle brush.

Yes it does seem like a gum overgrowth. However it may be inflammatory which means a gum overgrowth in reaction to tartar present on the teeth. On getting your teeth professionally thoroughly cleaned it may subside without any surgical intervention.
Next Steps
Scaling at a dentist who is qualified to treat such cases preferably a periodontist, ollowed by one week strict oral hygiene. After 7-10 days if the minor growth persists we can have it removed with a laser.
