Sleeplessness and anxiety
For the past month , I have been having trouble falling asleep. I get very sleepy around bed time but as soon as I lie down, my heart becomes very active , it starts beating fast and I have trouble calming down and falling asleep. Then till 4-5 am I am tossing around and then finally get up at 8 am. I maybe sleep for an hour or so but I get too many dreams and therefore feel exhausted in the morning. I do not sleep in the afternoon. I exercise moderately for an hour everyday. And the entire day due to the pandemic I either do household work or study or read , keep myself occupied. I recently went through a breakup. I wanted to know how I can calm myself before sleeping and also increase my quality of sleep.

For the best night's sleep most people should avoid strenuous workouts dose to bedtime Staying away from food that can be disruptive before sleep. Heavy or rich foods, fatty or fried meals, spicy dishes, citrus fruits and carbonated drinks can trigger .Indigestion for some people when this occurs close to bedtime it can lead to painful heartburn that disrupts sleep Ensuring adequate exposure to natural light.
