Sleeplessness amd anxiety
I'm suffering from sleeplessness and anxiety. Consulted a psychiatric doctor and he prescribed me Etizolam 0.5mg for night before bed and Prodep in morning.' I'm experiencing weird side effects and stomach upset issues. Is it ok to continue this medicine or i stop?

Hi.. these gastro intestinal side-effects can be present in the initial few days , which usually subside with time. Meanwhile you can use pantoprazole 40 mg in the morning. Even then  if they don't subside, you may need a change of medication.

You can continue. Prodep (Fluoxetine) may cause stomach upset. You can take medications for gastritis in the morning from a Physician. If the symptoms become unbearable and do not subside at all then consult your Psychiatrist.

Upto a week stomach upset like acidity and uneasiness is common which later resolves If it doesn't then inform your Psychiatrist so that a more tolerable medication can be prescribed, or you can try taking antacid/pan-40/pan-D etc for managing it temporarily till it is not needed at all.
Next Steps
Wait and watch if it is manageable with antacids etc

Prodep (Brand name for Fluoxetine) can cause some stomach issues. They should resolve with time and when you take the precautions the doctor has advised. Consult with your treating doctor if the side effects are not acceptable and ask if a change in medicines can be considered
