Hello Doctor,
I am a 23-year-old female.
Since August, I have been having a skin problem that started as itching on my inner thighs. After itching, circular ring-like patches appeared. First it was on my left inner thigh, then on my right inner thigh, then under my right breast. Today, a new small ring-like patch has appeared under my left breast.
Initially the patches were itchy, but now the itching has mostly stopped. The older patches have become dark brown/black and sometimes the skin peels. Clothes touching the patches cause a stinging or burning sensation.
I first used Lebrostone cream, which stopped the itching but caused burning for about an hour after application.
I consulted a dermatologist on Practo, and she diagnosed me with Tinea corporis (ringworm). She prescribed:
- Itraconazole 200 mg (1 capsule at night for 2 months)
- Levocetirizine 5 mg (morning and night for 3 weeks)
- Luliz Lotion (Luliconazole 1%) twice daily for 2 months.

Based on the clinical history provided in the consultation request, this presentation is classic for extensive dermatophytosis (Tinea corporis and Tinea cruris) complicated by prior topical steroid exposure.
Clinical Assessment
Topical Steroid Impact: "Lebrostone" (typically containing Clobetasol propionate, an ultra-potent topical corticosteroid) temporarily suppressed the itching and inflammation but likely caused Tinea incognito. Topical corticosteroids alter fungal morphology, thin the epidermal barrier, promote wider fungal dissemination (spreading to bilateral groins and inframammary folds), and cause marked skin burning/stinging.
Current Lesion Evolution: The transition of older lesions to dark brown/black with peeling represents post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and resolving epidermal scale as inflammation subsides, while the new ring-like lesions under the breast indicate active, spreading infection
