Hello
I have skin itching since past one year, I had consulted couple of dermatologists but only when I take medicines there is relief. Again the itching starts once I stop medicines.
One places if it itches , then again immediately there is continuous short itching in two other places of the whole body each time, it's like triggering other areas. I did talk to the dermatologist about, he asked me to take the tablet whenever there is itching and to ignore it.
I don't have thyroid or sugar. But I take BP tablets. My ESR is 22.
Is there any blood test which will identify the kind of infection I have?
Pls advise

Hello,
A close look at your skin condition after itching might help in diagnosis of your exact condition.
A small run of diagnostic test will also help in further cause detection like IgE, IgM
In Ayurveda we follow elimination of root cause:
1. Since it is present since 1 year it can be categorized into Rudh vyadhi
2. Pitta dosha and Rakta Dhatu with Swedovaha strotas reside in your skin hence, detoxification of these 3 will definitely reduce your symptoms to a greater extent.
3. Use of herbs like Sariva, Manjistha help to reduce itching and purify blood.
4. Diet with lifestyle changes also plays a keen role.

Hello, thank you for sharing your symptoms in detail.
Chronic itching that shifts from one area to another can be very frustrating and might indicate an underlying imbalance or sensitivity in your body’s immune or digestive system.
Since you don’t have thyroid or diabetes, and your ESR is mildly elevated (which can indicate inflammation), it’s important to explore further to identify any hidden triggers.
Yes, certain blood tests like Immunoglobulin panels (IgG, IgM) and allergy panels can help identify if you have specific food or environmental allergies causing this reaction. These tests look for immune responses to various allergens that might be triggering your skin symptoms.
In Ayurveda, we also consider internal toxins (Ama), digestive health, and doshic imbalances as key factors in chronic skin issues. A personalized approach including detoxification, herbal support, and diet modification can help break this cycle of itching and provide lasting relief.
If you’d like, we can schedule a consultation to review your full history and test results, and create a tailored treatment plan to address your skin concerns holistically.
Take care,
— Dr. Arisha

Hello,
Long-term itching without visible rash can be due to dry skin, allergies, or internal issues like liver or kidney problems. Since it returns after stopping medicines, a deeper cause should be ruled out.
Next Steps
1. Blood tests: CBC, LFT, RFT, IgE, and fasting blood sugar.
2. Avoid hot water baths and harsh soaps.
Its your body’s inflammatory response..please get tested for food allegies, thyroid profile as well.
For this detailed approach ll be required better to talk in person
Chronic itching without clear skin lesions could be linked to underlying doshic imbalance (mostly Pitta + Vata) or hidden allergies, liver dysfunction, or blood impurities.
You can consider tests like IgE levels, LFT, and ANA panel to rule out internal triggers. In Ayurveda, Raktashodhak herbs (like Neem, Manjishtha, Sariva) and Ghrit-based therapies are often beneficial.
I recommend an online consultation for a personalized detox and Rasayana approach to address the root cause and prevent recurrence.
