Hello Take her to the nearby dentist soon and get an x-ray done. After seeing the x-ray doctor will decide what will be the treatment. Immediate remedy is taken medicine which you have done already. So getting treatment is crucial now.

Visit your dentist as soon as possible till then ask her to eat soft food or avoid eating on that side. Warm salt water gargling she can do twice a day.

Given the severity of the pain, I strongly recommend visiting a dentist immediately. After taking an X-ray, the dentist will assess the current condition of the tooth to determine the extent of the issue. This will help us decide whether a root canal treatment (Re- RCT) is necessary, if medication can resolve the problem, or if extraction is required. In the meantime, please avoid relying heavily on painkillers, as they may not address the underlying issue and can have adverse health effects.
Next Steps
Visit the dentist so that clinical diagnosis can be done.
Health Tips
Avoid eating from painful side Take soft diet. Avoid hard food.

Kindly take xray of the teeth. Since you are telling root canal was done many years ago and till now if pain had not occurred . The reason might be some gum irritation or any issues involving food accumulation too. We need not conclude that root canal has to be done once again without inspecting . Problem might be smaller too
Next Steps
Visit a dentist
Health Tips
Salt water rinsing, keeping the area clean until you visit the dentist and taking long hours painkillers ( ketorol dt is strong painkiller but lasts only for 4 hours max)
