Every tooth ache does not necessarily require antibiotics or pain killers.
If the pain is due to cavity involving the tooth's nerve(pulp), then an RCT(root canal treatment) will reduce the pain without compulsory use of antibiotics.
If the pain is due to gum infection, then proper professional cleaning(curettage/root planing) of the affected area followed by antibiotics and pain killers will be of help.
