I am experiencing a serious scalp issue (since more than a year) that looks like a fungal or inflammatory infection. My entire scalp has developed thick white flakes that peel off in large pieces. It feels like a layered dandruff buildup. The scaling is persistent and keeps returning even after cleaning. I've attached photo of flakes and my scalp.
I have already taken some treatments prescribed earlier by dermatologists, including:
Ketanol Shampoo (2%)
Itraconazole 400mg
EG 20mg Tab
Apiderm GM Cream
Hatric 5mg Tab
Candid Lotion
Tarsyl Shampoo
Despite this, there is no major improvement. I am not sure whether this condition is seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infection, or something else.
I would like to know:
1. Is this likely seborrheic dermatitis or another condition?
2. What treatment or medications should I follow now?
3. Are there any effective home remedies or lifestyle changes that can help reduce the scaling?

I think you should see some other dermatologist or follow up with your dermat as treatment can be modified if persistent, also cause of persistance has also to be ruled out as well!!!
Detailed history and clear images are required for correct diagnosis and treatment. Low immunity can cause severe dandruff. It can be sebopsoriasis also. Long term treatment and maintenance are necessary to see improvement. Proper counselling regarding the condition is important
