Hi Scaling is done to remove superficial deposits from your teeth. It has no harm;rather you should go for regular scaling every 6months. It is important for your healthy gums. Cost varies from 600-1500/- depending upon the condition of teeth; amount of depositd and stains and health of gums. Thanks

Scaling and Polishing is not harmful at all. Ideally it should be done once in 6 or 8 month. It varies from person to person. Some people have more deposits then they need to get it done once in 6 months. Cost varies from dentist to dentist . you should consult your near by dentist for that.
Next Steps
Patient should do brushing twice a day, a regular dental check up.
