Respected Doctor
I am suffering from fever since 14 October , earlier used to happen in evening, then after taking paracetamol, sweating and fever goes away but last 3-4 days frequency has increased.
Attaching my blood test reports , dengue malaria and typhoid tests came negative. One anomaly in urine examination is in pus cells 2-3 wbc/hpf .
Doctor advised to get admitted citing malaria sometimes shows negative on the report but I have come to a course related to my organisation and attendance is mandatory all days . Please advice what has happened
I am also now suffering from dry cough and heavy head after sweating from paracetamol.
Generalized weakness in the body
Lack of appetite except fruits
As we came back from hospital, doctor's prescribed medicines are
Paracetamol 650 mg thrice a day for 3 days then only on getting fever
One gas tablet to be taken in morning
Multivitamim tablet
Lactic acid tablet twice a day
3-4 Electoral i.e. 3-4 L of water everyday
Your malaria, dengue and typhoid tests being negative doesn't rule out an infection, especially since your ESR is quite high and your haemoglobin is a little low, both signs your body is fighting something that hasn't been identified yet. Fever lasting more than a week, worsening in frequency, plus a new cough and weakness are exactly why your doctor wants you admitted, not something to work around.
Next Steps
Please see your doctor again today and get admitted as advised instead of delaying it for work; repeat testing and closer monitoring often catch what one round of blood tests misses, especially malaria, which can show a false negative early on. Keep taking the antibiotic and other medicines you've already been started on.
Health Tips
Go to the hospital immediately if you develop breathlessness, confusion, a very high fever paracetamol doesn't bring down, or reduced urination.
