70 yrs, RCT with post & core is done on tooth second from front. On one more anterior tooth with old RCT has recent composite filling placed.
Dental caps (CAD/CAM ceramic) on both teeth is yet to b placed.
I can see some reddish tissue like area near root of tooth.
Dentist has called after a week for dental cap placement and there is no temporary crown fitted. No antibiotics?/med given due to cirrhosis.
Is it okay to place cap after a week? Is there any chance of infection or other issues?

Hello! Placing the crown after a week is usually fine if there’s no pain, swelling, or signs of infection. The reddish area may be gum irritation — do warm salt water rinses. Antibiotics were likely avoided due to cirrhosis, which is okay. But if symptoms worsen, see your dentist immediately. It’s important to get the crown placed on time to protect the tooth.
Hi,
No need to worry. Visit your dentist after a week and proceed with the planned treatment. If the dentist feels like the gums are not healthy or sees any signs of infection, he/she wont place the crown.
Leaving a tooth without temporary crown is not ideal after post and core and RCT treated. it increases the risk of Microleakage, Fracture risk, Soft tissue irritation.
No meds are prescribed as patient has chirrhosis, and no past or present infections present so its fine
