Pus in Molar tooth after Re-RCT
Hello Doctor, I got RCT done for my molar tooth in 2016. In October 2021, I developed little pus in the gums area just below the same tooth.
A dentist suggested Re-RCT and then the problem got resolved.
Now again after 1 year, I have developed a slight pus & swelling in gums below same tooth.

What should be done?
I don't have constant pain. But tenderness & some swelling is there. Please guide 🙏

Better to get an x ray done.
If there is any internal/ external resorption associated, then better go for extraction.

You need to go to the dentist and get an X-ray done so the condition of the root canal treatment can be analysed better.If infection is shown in xray then u need to start a course of antibiotics and get the root canal done again properly….and after all the swelling and tenderness gone then go for the capping part.

When you go to the dentist this time make sure you take a picture of the xray before starting the treatment and a picture after the re-rct treatment done fully so that you get a better idea how the treatment went and for future reference if the same tooth troubled you again

Tooth is infected. Get xray of tooth. If possible, re-rct has to be done. Antibiotics along with analgesics has to be taken to relieve the pain and infection. You can consult through this for prescription of medication.
