Hi Preparing for exams is always stressful. However u need to take it as any other stressful situation. Make preparations piece by piece - as in divide your syllabus into shorter tasks and then go one by one to learn them. Re sleep Do not try to fall asleep as it is a natural response of your body. Simply allow yourself to sleep. If u can’t sleep get up and read something or do something. Train ur brain to sleep without thinking about sleep.

Hi, Preparing for competitive exams can be a challenging experience, especially when compounded by external stressors such as family problems. The pressure to perform well in exams can lead to anxiety and worry, making it difficult to concentrate on studies. Additionally, when personal issues disrupt your peace of mind, they can severely impact your ability to sleep, resulting in fatigue and decreased cognitive function. This cycle can create a negative feedback loop, where poor sleep impairs your ability to study effectively, leading to further stress about your exam readiness. It’s important to prioritize self-care during this time. Techniques such as establishing a structured study schedule, practicing mindfulness or meditation, and seeking support from friends or counselors can help manage stress. Ensuring you have a designated time to unwind before bed, and incorporating relaxation techniques, may improve sleep quality. Remember, taking small breaks and allowing yourself moments of rest can ultimately enhance both your mental clarity and performance in your exams.

Is it Relation / Finance / Conflicts / your education / your incapability ???..

It sounds like you’re carrying a lot on your shoulders—exam pressure, family stress, and now, sleep issues. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed. One thing to remember is that your mind needs rest to function well. Try to create a simple night routine—limit screen time before bed, practice deep breathing, or listen to something calming. Even 10 minutes of relaxation can make a difference. Family stress can be draining, but if possible, set small mental boundaries—remind yourself that not everything is in your control. Focus on what you can do right now, one step at a time. If sleep still feels impossible, consider talking to someone—sometimes, just expressing your thoughts helps lighten the load. You’re not alone in this, and things will get better.

Competitive exams in India are very fierce with cut throat survival competition. Its like walking on eggshells when if anything goes wrong life will be doomed. On top of that if Competitive exams are not just your choice of career but also your gateway to give accomplished life to your family. Finances or anything involved. Now we often see students studying in small rooms for hours which again makes us feel falling in a hole. If this is what you are going through then you are not alone, and surely there is a way out for this. First start with simple breathing techniques between your breaks. Next step at least fir half an hour go out to study in park on a bench somewhere, next whenever you feel panicked about results that's when you have to face this fear of unknown and make it a fear which is familiar so for that you need to start reading and learning from people about what options they tried while preparing for competitive exams and what your best capabilities are, so that when you panic about losing things then these logical thoughts conquer your fear and make you feel better.

Don't force yourself to sleep. Have a healthy night routine like a warm shower and having fruit salad and a cup of milk. Keep the room well ventilated and also lighting has to be mild so you feel calm and listen to some sleep music or meditation if it helps do it or repeat some word or otherwise get up , sit and study for some time. You are not sleeping because of overthinking and stress is due to exam anxiety, it will go away once exams are over. Consult a psychologist to know how to overcome this and sleep well and be calm and focus on your exams.

Hi...Competitive exams require optimal performance. Some level of arousal or stress is necessary to increase your attention and interest but the peak performance comes at the optimal level of arousal. If it goes beyond that optimal arousal, it converts into stress and anxiety and it impairs performance. You need to use your environmental stressors to build that necessary arousal and than focus on the task at hand. Your sleep disturbance is a product of your academic stress, family issues and poor routine. PCOS may or may not be stress related. Please consult a Gynecologist for it. Also, please start regulating your routine in terms for proper and timely - Meals, Sleep, Exercise, and Breathing Meditation. If you are able to follow any 2 of them, other two will automatically come into order. So, if sleep is not in order, focus on healthy and timely meals,  exercise, and breathing meditation.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist and Gynecologist. For Academic and Family Stress:---- 1. Psychologist--- Interpersonal Guidance and     Career Counselling. For PCOS:---- 1.Gynaecologist--- Meditations and Self Care    Guidance. 2. Psychologist--- Supportive Counselling and     Lifestyle Changes.

Preparing for competitive exams while dealing with family stress and sleep disturbances can be overwhelming. Here’s a structured approach that may help manage your stress and improve focus: Break your study sessions into smaller, manageable tasks. Use the Pomodoro technique (25-50 min study, 5-10 min break) to avoid burnout. You might also want to seek support and set emotional boundaries to handle family stress. If sleep problems and stress become overwhelming, don’t hesitate to reach out for professional support. Prioritizing mental and physical health is just as crucial as studying hard.
Next Steps
Stay physically active, eat well and focus on what’s in your control

Seek professional help if problem persists

Some stress under the circumstances that you are in, is quite normal. But if you find it unmanageable, especially under the family situations, you may need to take professional help from a psychologist who will be able to guide you on managing your stressors. One thing that I can suggest to you is to reinforce the fact that the emotional disturbances around will pass in some time and you will be able to live your life as an independent individual soon. But that may not be easy for you, especially when you are in the current anxiety. That is why I suggest you seek professional help. Apart from that please find a close and trustworthy relative or friend with whom you may share your worries. This may reduce your stress to some extent. Please talk to your friends once in a while. If possible, engage in some relaxing activities in between.
