I have been experiencing difficulty sleeping. I do run a business and have some stress. Recently a little more than others. I tried some sleep medication for 5 days by a general physician. I got sleep for 3 out of 5 days but I have figured that it may be related to stress and anxiety. Should I consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist? I would prefer a psychologist because I would like to avoid medication but I want to be realistic.

Do not make self diagnosis.you should consult both. Many times medicine is necessary for quick relief, which a psychologist can not prescribe. Physicians are very reluctant to share the patient with clinical psychologist. Otherwise physician and clinical psychologist can help you in better way.
